ROG Tessen: First Impression Goes Smoothly!

The news on the release of ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) newest product early this year has certainly gained spotlights – especially among gamers! The new ROG Tessen, a mobile controller that could boost your gaming experience, is finally here!

I had experienced the ROG Tessen first hand and dare I say – I don’t think I could live without Tessen anymore (sad emoji here). Why? Alright, here are the 101 reasons why I cannot live without Tessen (nah, can’t do 101 but these are my top five reasons). 

Foldable and Light

While the ROG Tessen is not the first mobile controller that exists in the gaming industry, it is certainly among the first that is foldable. Not going to lie but the reason I fell in love at first sight with Tessen was because it is foldable. Some mobile controllers tend to take a lot of space in the bag which makes it slightly difficult to carry around. 

However, since the ROG Tessen can be folded, it makes it a lot easier to carry and bring along anywhere without taking up so much space in the bag! Oh, did I mention that the ROG Tessen is light too? The weight barely gives any burden which makes the ROG Tessen great to bring along on any trip!

USB C Port

The next reason to own an ROG Tessen is it is connected directly by using a type-C USB Port. I had owned a mobile controller previously and it is connected via Bluetooth, which makes information transfer a bit delayed sometimes.

Also, when a mobile controller is connected via Bluetooth, the gaming experience will not be smooth. Not sure about other Bluetooth-connected mobile controllers but the one that I owned previously was like that. 

However, when I tried ROG Tessen, I was glad that it is not Bluetooth-connected but it is through type-C USB Port instead so it is connected directly to the phone. My gaming experience was smooth and there was no delay! This reason has made me pass a level in a game with ease. 

Ergonomic Handle

Another reason why I cannot live without ROG Tessen is because of its ergonomic design. For those who are the type to play games for a long time, ROG Tessen is the right one for you! I had played a game using Tessen for two hours straight and I barely felt any fatigue or cramps on my hands and fingers. 

Also, the way the console fits perfectly and comfortably in my hands, makes me want to continue playing games without a break. But, this is not a good habit for everyone, so make sure to limit your gaming time and step outside once in a while to get some fresh air as well as give your eyes a little break! 

Customizable

This aspect impressed me because what do you mean the function button on ROG Tessen is customizable?!

With the Armoury Crate app, you can tailor the controls to suit your play style in any game, at any time! Impressive right?

The Armoury Crate app allows you to remap buttons or configure customized functions and commands such as screen capture, gameplay recording, lighting effects and more!

Compatible

The final reason – but of course, it is not the last, is its compatibility. The ROG Tessen is not only built for the new ROG 8 Phone series but it is compatible with the majority of Android phones in the market! 

Not only that, the ROG Tessen could be used even when the phone is wearing a protective case or phone case thus, there is no need to take the case off from the phone. This way, there is no need to be concerned about any scratches on your phone when using the ROG Tessen! 

Although there are more reasons, these are among the few that I felt were the main points that captured my interest in owning the ROG Tessen. Anyway, the ROG Tessen will be available around the middle of August so keep your eyes wide for the latest update by ASUS ROG!
