YouTube now requires creators to tag videos created using AI and will show the label to viewers.
However, it is not so clear right now where the line will be drawn as to which videos need to be disclosed to reveal the use of AI; it seems quite broad. It should be used on “realistic” material, whether it is altered by AI or completely synthetic.
For “sensitive topics,” they will show this AI label more prominently. Creators found to have consistently failed to flag AI-assisted content on YouTube will be subject to content removal and suspension.
YouTube is also taking a bigger stance against AI-generated music content, such as fake songs. Takedown requests from music labels and distributors are coming soon to address this.
