The Honor X40 is the latest mid-range smartphone with slim profile and soon will be released in Malaysia.

Honor has recently released its newest mid-range smartphone, the X40, on the company’s home market in China. Meanwhile, according to TechNave, the Honor X40 will be released in Malaysia under a different name and with improved technical specifications. However, we must await an official statement from Honor Malaysia to confirm this matter. 

Design-wise, one of the most notable features of the Honor X40 is the distinctive ring on the back that houses the camera system and has a slim design with a thickness of 7.9mm and a weight of 172g. On the front, it features a large 6.67-inch curved OLED display with a maximum brightness of 800 nits. Further, it supports variable refresh rates of up to 120 Hz and has a touch sampling rate of 300 Hz. There is a fingerprint sensor located underneath the display for authentication.

Furthermore, the Honor X40 is powered by the Snapdragon 695 processor and comes with a larger 5,100mAh battery with a two-day battery life and support for 40W charging. The mid-range device comes pre-installed with Android 12-based Magic UI 6.1. For camera configuration, it has a dual rear camera including a 50MP primary lens and a 2MP tertiary shooter. The primary camera is capable of 1080p video recording and has an 8x digital zoom. The front-facing camera has an 8MP f/2.0 sensor for taking selfies.

In China, the devices is starts at CNY 1499 (~RM980.00) for the base variant and it comes in four storage configurations which are 6GB of RAM/128GB of ROM, 8GB of RAM/128GB of ROM, 8GB of RAM/256GB of ROM, and 12GB of RAM/256GB of ROM. Nonetheless, as the most recent smartphone released outside of China, only one or two memory configurations will be offered for the global market.
