In 2026, HONOR Malaysia is going big on storytelling with the launch of the Magic Stories Awards 2026, paired with a nationwide photography workshop tour. And it’s not just about snapping pretty pictures it’s about capturing the soul of Malaysia.
A Photography Competition With Serious Rewards
The Magic Stories Awards isn’t your average contest. It’s built around one idea: telling real Malaysian stories through your lens.
Participants can submit photos across six themes:
- Cityscapes
- People & culture
- Nature
- Food
- Hidden gems
- Animals
And yes, the prizes are worth paying attention to.
A total of 21 photographers will be recognised, with the top winner walking away with a flagship foldable smartphone. Other prizes include devices like the HONOR Magic8 Pro and the HONOR 600 Pro, so your next upgrade might literally come from your creativity.
Submissions are open from 27 April to 15 September 2026, and there’s an extra bonus: standout winners could get fast-tracked into the global edition of the competition. That means your photo of a kampung morning or KL skyline could reach an international audience.
Not Just a Contest, A Nationwide Photography Adventure
If you’re more into learning and exploring, HONOR is also running a hands-on photography workshop tour across Malaysia.
From 9 May to July 2026, participants can join guided sessions in some seriously stunning locations:
- 9 May 2026: The Habitat Penang Hill
- 17 May 2026: Rumah Singgora Kota Bharu, Kelantan
- 6 -7 June 2026: Taman Negara, Pahang
- 13 June 2026: Eufloria Gardens and Sculpture Park, Genting Highlands
- 20 June 2026: Sosodikon Hill and Desa Dairy Farm, Sabah
- 4 July 2026: Wang Kelian View Point, Perlis
- 11 July 2026: Sarawak Cultural Village, Kuching
Each stop focuses on different photography styles, from portraits to landscapes while letting participants test out HONOR’s latest camera in real-world settings.
