POCO M4 5G will be released in Malaysia on August 18, 2022.

Poco, an independent budget brand owned by Xiaomi, has launched the Poco M4 5G worldwide. The smartphone first appeared at the end of April in India. The only significant difference between the two devices is that the front-facing camera and the primary camera have inferior sensors. The rest of the specifications are unchanged, even down to the RAM and chipset combinations. 

The Poco M4 5G for global markets is the entry-level gadget and has a plastic body like most low-cost smartphones. The device runs MIUI 13 based on Android 12 and is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset together with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. In addition, the phone boasts an IP52 rating and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covering its display. Its dimensions are 163.99 x 76.09 x 8.9mm, and its weight is 200g.

The smartphone has a 6.58-inch in-cell IPS LCD screen with a 2400 x 1080 pixel resolution, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. The panel has a 20:9 aspect ratio, a contrast ratio of 1500:1, and a PPI of 401. Moving to its camera setup, it has a dual camera system with a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor on the back. While it sports an 8MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls.

Furthermore, the phone has dual-SIM, 5G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, GNSS, and USB Type-C connectivity options. Additionally, it includes a dedicated MicroSD card slot, an IR blaster, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Lastly, a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W wired charging powers the smartphone. A 22.5W power adaptor is provided in the box, according to the global spec sheet.

Poco M4 5G will come in three color options – Black, Blue, and POCO Yellow, which is the brand’s signature color. In terms of it’s official pricing, it comes in two storage configurations, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM will be listed at RM699 while for 6GB of RAM and 128 of ROM will cost at RM899. For the availability in the Malaysia markets, it’s slated to go on sale starting August 18, 2022.
