HONOR Announces 7-Year Android Update Plan at MWC, Malaysia to Follow

It’s official! HONOR has announced a significant expansion of its software support, committing to seven years of Android OS and security updates for its flagship HONOR Magic series. This initiative will commence with the HONOR Magic7 Pro in the European Union, with plans to gradually extend this support to the Malaysian market.

This move, part of the newly announced HONOR ALPHA PLAN, positions HONOR as one of only three industry leaders offering such extensive coverage, highlighting the company’s dedication to customer satisfaction.

HONOR also expresses hope that this initiative will encourage other manufacturers to follow suit, enhancing security and accessibility to innovations for smartphone users globally.

We aim to provide devices and services that meet consumer needs and beyond their expectations now and in the future. Therefore, HONOR has decided to offer seven years of Android OS and security updates to the HONOR Magic series. This includes our flagship bar phone and foldable phone. This extended support period not only prolongs device lifespans and reduces electronic waste, aligning with sustainability goals, but also ensures users benefit from secure, high-performing devices equipped with the latest AI technology throughout their device’s extended lifecycle. HONOR plans to expand this extended support to more of its flagship models, including both bar and foldable phones, in the future.
