POCO M5 series revealed globally, starting from RM649.

Poco has announced the M5 and M5s, two new 4G smartphones for the global market. Before getting into the technical details, it’s important to note that the POCO M5 and POCO M5s are simply rebranded versions of the M4 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 10S, respectively. Hence, some of its specifications may be fairly familiar to you.

Contrary to the most recent M4 5G series, the new Poco M5 series smartphones arrive with 4G network connectivity, which are made for entry-level smartphones. Out of the two, the Poco M5s has slightly better hardware. Given its price range, the smartphone’s 6.43-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels is pretty  impressive. Under the hood, it is powered by a MediaTek Helio G95 CPU and it includes up to 128GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM. The smartphone, like many other devices, has a 5000 mAh battery for entry-level needs, and provides a rapid charger at 33 W.

The Poco M5s is equipped with a quad-rear camera system of 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth lens. There is a 13MP front-facing camera present. Additionally, it has a microSD slot for you to have more space for your photo and video whilst there’s also a fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm audio connector, and IP53 certification for protection against water and dust resistance.

Meanwhile, the Poco M5 which is an even more affordable option sports a 6.58-inch screen (2048 x 1080 pixels), employs LCD technology, as well as a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The latest MediaTek Helio G99 chipset is available, along with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Although it has a headphone connector and supports up to 1 TB microSD cards for extra storage, it lacks IP53 certification. The smartphone is also inferior in terms of photography. It has a 50MP primary sensor that is supplemented with 2MP depth and 2MP macro lenses. For selfies, it has an 8MP sensor. Despite claiming a battery capacity of 5000 mAh, its charging speed is only 18 W.
