HONOR’s Unveils AI Alpha Plan, New Devices at MWC Barcelona 2025

HONOR made a significant splash at the opening of  Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2025 on March 2, unveiling a bold new direction for the company, solidifying its commitment to becoming a global leader in the AI device ecosystem.

HONOR ALPHA PLAN: A Leap into AI Future

At the forefront of their presentation was the announcement of the “HONOR ALPHA PLAN,” a comprehensive corporate strategy aimed at transforming HONOR from a smartphone manufacturer into a provider of a holistic AI-powered device ecosystem. This ambitious plan includes a substantial $10 billion investment over the next five years, dedicated to fostering AI collaborations and innovation.

The plan has three phases. The first phase is focusing on making phones more intelligent. It will feature a “personal mobile AI agent” that will be designed to handle various tasks, such as making reservations and providing personalized assistance.

Simultaneously, they’re revolutionizing mobile photography with AiMAGE, an AI-driven system that significantly enhances image clarity and telephoto capabilities. AiMAGE promises sharper photos through on-device AI sharpening, improved zoom quality via cloud-based AI, and even a tool to restore older, degraded images. This focus on AI extends beyond photography, with plans to streamline file sharing across devices and introduce AI-powered deepfake detection on high-end models.

Furthermore, HONOR is demonstrating a strong commitment to long-term user satisfaction. They are pledging seven years of Android OS and security updates for their Magic series, starting with the Honor Magic7 Pro in the EU market. This extended software support underscores HONOR’s dedication to providing a secure and up-to-date user experience, aligning with their broader vision of an AI-powered, user-centric ecosystem.

Human and AI Coexisting

The second phase of HONOR ALPHA PLAN involves building a collaborative AI ecosystem. HONOR is committed to create a seamless and open ecosystem thus, collaborating with partners like Google Cloud, will provide agentic AI capabilities and smooth interaction with third party applications.

The third and final phase will be on HONOR’s vision of human and AI coexisting. HONOR envisions a future where humans and artificial intelligence work together seamlessly, expanding the boundaries of technological achievement. They believe that by leveraging sophisticated AI, they can empower individuals to reach their full potential.

New Devices Launch

Aside from their strategic announcements, HONOR also unveiled a range of new devices. Here’s a quick look on what HONOR will be launching this year:

• HONOR MagicBook Pro 14: a laptop that utilizes AI to maximize battery performance, packaged in a sleek, lightweight design featuring a distinctive vine-leaf curve. The device also incorporates Honor Turbo X technology for enhanced processing power.

• HONOR Pad V9: an ultra-thin tablet boasts a stunning 2.8K display with a 144Hz refresh rate, prioritizing visual comfort with HONOR Eye Protection Technology. It also has a very durable design.

• HONOR Earbuds Open: features advanced AI capabilities, delivering premium sound quality and all-day comfort with their ergonomic design.

• HONOR Watch 5 Ultra: showcases an elegant design with a titanium case, a vibrant AMOLED display, and comprehensive health monitoring features.
