Asus officially unveiled the ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate powered by Mediatek Dimensity 9000+ & more.

Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) has taken the wrap off the new ROG Phone 6 members – the ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate. On a side note, Asus had released ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro which came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in July. The notable difference compared to Asus ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro is the new member is powered by a MediaTek DImensity 9000 Plus SoC while in terms of hardware it is basically the same. 

The noteworthy features on Asus bring in ROG Phone 6D Ultimate is the customised AeroActive Portal features on the back panel. When the phone is connected to the ASUS AeroActive Cooler 6 accessory, a motorized hinge opens up a direct airflow to the phone’s internal cooling components that work as a ‘heat-dissipation door’. 

Furthermore, besides having the same design with the Asus ROG Phone 6 series, the newer siblings have received similar features with minor differences on storage capacity and cooling system technology. That being said, both devices feature a LPDDR5x RAM with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for the standard 6D, meanwhile 512GB of storage for the 6D Ultimate. 

Other than that, both devices have a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2448 x 1080 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, a fingerprint sensor built into the screen, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Also, it has a 6,000mAh battery that promises 18 hours of screen time and supports 65W fast charging, which can fully charge the phone in 40 minutes. 

As for camera configurations,  both new ROG Phone 6 models feature the same triple camera system on the rear, which consists of a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide, and a 5MP macro camera. While the front-facing camera has a 12MP selfie camera. They run Android 12 and come with both the ROG UI and the Zen UI. Asus guarantees two Android updates as well as two years of security updates. ASUS also made sure that both phones work with the same first-party accessories that were made for the original ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro.

Lastly, in terms of availability, both series of the Asus ROG Phone 6D will soon be released in the European market, but there is no clue as to when they will be made available for global release at this moment.  Both models come in a single shade of Space Grey colour with a price tag of EUR 949 (~RM 4,314) and EUR 1,399 (~RM 6,360) respectively.
