HONOR has officially announced the winners of the Southeast Asia (SEA) edition of the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards. This year’s competition showcased a remarkable fusion of art and technology, attracting 978 submissions from independent designers and students across 22 higher learning institutions in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.
Recognizing Exceptional Regional Talent
Out of a competitive field, 33 artists were selected for their creative contributions to HONOR’s product ecosystem. The Grand Prize winners—Ruyi Teoh, Nor Marlina Mukhtar, and Ch’Ng Jie Xun—each received the flagship HONOR Magic8 Pro. Other top performers were awarded the HONOR 400 Pro, Pad V9, and Watch 5.
Beyond hardware prizes, these winners will see their work integrated into HONOR’s retail stores and products, featured in international exhibitions, and will participate in a specialized “Youth Empowerment” training camp to further refine their professional skills.
Inspired Design and Environmental Advocacy
The winning entries stood out for their deep storytelling and thematic depth:
- Ruyi Teoh captured the “Theme” category with “Ripples of Connection and Harmony,” using the imagery of rain puddles to symbolize how human stories flow across borders.
- Nor Marlina Mukhtar focused on marine conservation in the “Accessories” category with “Coral Reefs: Nature’s Unforgettable Masterpiece,” designed to remind users of the fragility of marine ecosystems.
- Ch’Ng Jie Xun explored the intersection of nature and technology with “Glitches of the Rainforest.” This piece features endangered Malaysian wildlife and uses digital “glitches” to represent the urgent tension between environmental loss and tech-driven conservation.
A Legacy of Empowering Young Creators
Participants were challenged to explore themes such as Cultural Prosperity, Renewal of Life, and Youth Convergence across five categories, including Watches, Accessories, and Art & Technology. Since its launch in 2020, the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards has served as a launchpad for the next generation of designers, reinforcing HONOR’s commitment to nurturing visionary leaders who bridge the gap between artistic expression and technological innovation.
