Penta Camera Revolution: Introducing the OPPO Find X8 Ultra

OPPO continues to shape the mobile photography industry as the brand launches its latest flagship smartphone, OPPO Find X8 Ultra. Positioned as the ultimate camera phone, it aims to set new standards in mobile photography through its advanced camera system and computational imaging capabilities.

“Find X8 Ultra represents OPPO’s pinnacle of mobile imaging innovation. With OPPO’s Next-Gen Penta Camera System and HyperTone Image Engine, developed in close collaboration with Hasselblad, it sets a new benchmark for smartphone camera capabilities,” said Pete Lau, SVP and Chief Product Officer of OPPO.

Next-Gen Penta Camera System

Find X8 Ultra’s Next-Gen Penta Camera System

Building on the success of its predecessor, the Find X8 Ultra features a Next-Gen Penta Camera System, developed in partnership with Hasselblad. This system comprises five rear cameras designed to capture exceptional images in various scenarios. The five powerful lenses are a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP wide camera with a 1-inch sensor, two 50MP periscope telephoto cameras with significantly enhanced light capture, and an exclusive True Chroma Camera for more natural color rendering.

Superior Imaging Technology

The Find X8 Ultra boasts superior imaging technology, beginning with its 1-inch wide camera, which utilizes the Sony LYT-900 sensor, the largest found in any smartphone, combined with an upgraded 8-element lens and a fast f/1.8 aperture to deliver exceptional image quality.

The 3x periscope telephoto camera features a 50MP sensor with improved light capture, a floating lens for telemacro photography, and “Super Blue Glass” technology to minimize glare. The 6x periscope telephoto camera enhances zoom quality in low-light conditions with increased light intake.

Finally, the True Chroma Camera employs a 9-channel multispectral system for accurate color rendering and precise white balance processing, ensuring true-to-life colors in captured images.

Next-Gen HyperTone Image Engine

OPPO’s Find X8 Ultra features the Next-Gen HyperTone Image Engine, a significant leap in computational photography designed to elevate image quality. This advanced system optimizes depth, detail, and dynamic range, particularly in challenging lighting conditions.

AI Tone Mapping and ProXDR work in tandem to deliver improved depth and detail in backlit portraits, while also enhancing brightness and color information. Additionally, a new Hi-Res Mode allows users to capture 25MP photos across all rear cameras.

For those seeking professional-level control, the device includes Hasselblad Portrait Mode, which offers precise subject detection, cinematic bokeh effects, continuous zoom functionality, and enhanced night portrait capabilities. Complementing this is Master Mode, emulating the Hasselblad X2D 100C, providing 50MP JPEG MAX and RAW MAX output, improved focus control, and customizable presets, catering to the needs of discerning photographers.

Advanced Video Capabilities and Slim Design

The Find X8 Ultra supports 4K Dolby Vision video recording at 60fps on all rear and front cameras, with 120fps available on the 1x and 3x cameras. Despite its advanced camera system, the device maintains a slim profile, making it one of the thinnest in its class. It also has IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, and has very strong drop protection.

Powerful Performance and Battery Life

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, the Find X8 Ultra offers high performance and efficient power management. It features a large 6100mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support.

OPPO’s Expanded Product Lineup

Alongside the Find X8 Ultra, OPPO introduced the OPPO Find X8s and Find X8s+ in China. The Find X8s is a compact flagship with a 6.3-inch display and triple 50MP cameras. Meanwhile, the Find X8s+ is an upgraded version of the Find X8 with a larger battery. Both X8s models use the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chip.

Besides smartphone, OPPO also unveiled two flagship IoT devices: OPPO Watch X2 Mini, which builds upon the well-regarded OPPO Watch X2, offering a smaller form factor with a 1.32-inch screen and a stainless steel watch case adorned with 18K rose gold plating; and OPPO Pad 4 Pro, a flagship 13.2-inch tablet powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite platform.
