Albeit many iPhone models that run iOS 15 will be able to get the iOS 16 updated but some list of older devices will be cut off to get the newly updated operating system. For this year’s release, it appears that the iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPod touch, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will not be supported.

According to Apple, only the iPhone 8 and later will be able to run iOS 16. The full compatible iPhone listed below :

  • iPhone 13

  • iPhone 13 Pro
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max

  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR

Ultimately, only iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and later devices will be able to activate it and get the most out of iOS 16.

The first developer beta is currently available for download, while the first beta for the general public is expected to be released in July.
