Compatible iPhone model for iOS 16 updated.

Since Apple has unveiled the latest operating system to the world during WWDC 2022 involving iOS16, some old iPhone models are not listed as compatible models to receive the latest operating system update. Let’s find out more whether your iPhone will be able to run iOS16?

Albeit many iPhone models that run iOS 15 will be able to get the iOS 16 updated but some list of older devices will be cut off to get the newly updated operating system. For this year’s release, it appears that the iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPod touch, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will not be supported.

According to Apple, only the iPhone 8 and later will be able to run iOS 16. The full compatible iPhone listed below :

  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone SE (2nd generation or later)

Despite the fact that these iPhone will receive the latest operating system updates, still some models are not able to support all iOS16 futures. Live Text futures, for instance, will only require the A12 bionic chipset as a minimum requirement. Ultimately, only iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and later devices will be able to activate it and get the most out of iOS 16.

The first developer beta is currently available for download, while the first beta for the general public is expected to be released in July.
