Is the vivo X300 Series Really the Ultimate Travel Phone of the Year?

Malaysians have been buzzing about the vivo X300 Series from the moment it was announced. And after the official launch, the excitement only grew. Many are already calling it the ultimate travel phone. But is that title truly deserved? To find out, we’re taking a closer look at the vivo X300 Pro, the model that’s been turning heads for its camera and performance.

A Strong Start: vivo × ZEISS

One thing vivo absolutely nailed this year is its continued partnership with ZEISS, a name photographers have trusted since the 1980s. For the X300 Pro, this collaboration brings a powerful 200 MP ZEISS Main Camera, built on a 1/1.4-inch sensor featuring VCS 3.0 Technology. That means better colour accuracy, improved low-light shots, more even lighting, and sharper edges in every frame.

Backing the main shooter is the ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera, the first in the X series to reach the ZEISS APO standard, a big milestone for telephoto quality. On the front, there’s a 50 MP ZEISS Wide-Angle autofocus camera, perfect for everything from group selfies to crisp close-ups.

If you love shooting on-the-go, vivo has packed in a long list of creative tools:

  • Multi-Focal HD Portrait
  • Stage Mode 2.0
  • 4K Stage All-in-One Recording
  • Dual-View Stage Video
  • AI One-Shot Multi-Crop
  • AI Landscape Master
  • Telephoto Flower & Bird Shots

These features make the X300 Pro feel like a real travel companion, especially when you want to capture everything from sweeping landscapes to tiny details.

The Photographer Kit When You Want to Go Pro

For more serious photography, there’s the X300 Pro Photographer Kit. Inside, you’ll find:

  • vivo ZEISS 2.35x Telephoto Extender
  • PGYTECH Imaging Grip Kit
  • 62 mm Filter Adapter Ring
  • Decorative Rings
  • Phone Case
  • Neck Strap
  • Quick-Release Hooks

It’s surprisingly easy to assemble and genuinely transforms the phone into something much closer to a compact camera setup. The only downside? It’s not rain-friendly so if you’re caught in a tropical Malaysian thunderstorm, this kit won’t save you.

Luckily, the phone itself comes with IP68 & IP69 dust and water resistance, so even without the kit, you’re free to explore and shoot in more challenging environments. And based on the shots I managed to capture (despite claiming zero photography talent!), the X300 Pro holds up impressively well on its own.

Powering All That Imaging Potential

A great camera system means nothing if the phone can’t keep up and vivo seems to understand that.

The X300 Pro is fueled by the Pro Imaging Chip VS1, which pre-processes RAW data directly from the sensor. This results in faster shooting, cleaner portraits, better clarity, and reduced noise.

At its core, the device runs on the Dimensity 9500 flagship platform, ensuring smooth performance whether you’re editing photos, navigating unfamiliar cities, or running heavy travel apps.

Battery life is another major plus: a 6510 mAh BlueVolt battery paired with 90W FlashCharge and 40W wireless charging, making it reliable for long travel days.

So… Is It the Travel Phone of the Year?

With everything vivo has packed into the X300 Series (especially the X300 Pro) it definitely makes a strong case for the title. The camera system is outstanding, the performance is solid, and the battery life is built for long adventures. The Photographer Kit would’ve made the experience even more exciting, but that’s a story for another day.

If you’re still unsure, a quick visit to vivo’s official site will show you even more specs and features I didn’t cover here. But based on what we’ve seen so far, the vivo X300 Pro is absolutely worthy of being called one of the best travel phones of the year.
