Mobile gaming has reached a point where raw speed alone isn’t enough. What players really want is smooth gameplay that lasts, a phone that stays cool under pressure, and a battery that doesn’t quit halfway through a match. That’s exactly the idea behind the newly unveiled iQOO 15R, officially introduced in Kuala Lumpur on 2 March 2025.
Rather than chasing extremes, iQOO positions the 15R as a balanced flagship, one that focuses on sustained performance instead of short bursts of power. The result is what iQOO calls “The Performance Trio” : smooth operation, enduring battery life, and cool stability.
Performance That Stays Consistent, Not Just Fast
At the core of the iQOO 15R is the Snapdragon® 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, paired with iQOO’s own Supercomputing Chip Q2 and the Monster HyperCore Engine. This dual-chip setup isn’t just about benchmark numbers, it’s about keeping performance stable during long gaming or multitasking sessions.
In real use, that means fewer frame drops, faster app switching, and smoother gameplay even when the phone is pushed hard. Features like 1.5K Super Resolution and native-level 144 FPS frame interpolation help games look sharper and feel noticeably more fluid, especially in competitive titles.
Big Battery, Smarter Power Management
One of the most eye-catching specs is the 7600mAh silicon anode battery. Despite its size, iQOO manages to keep the phone relatively compact, making it practical for everyday use, not just gaming marathons.
To prevent overheating, the phone uses a 6.5K IceCore VC cooling system combined with a dual-layer graphite structure. The goal here is simple: keep temperatures down so performance doesn’t dip over time.
Charging is equally thoughtful. With 100W FlashCharge and Bypass Charging, power can flow directly to the system during gaming sessions, reducing heat while protecting long-term battery health.
A Design That’s Actually Comfortable
Flagship phones often go big, but not always comfortable. The iQOO 15R takes a different approach with a 6.59-inch display designed for better grip and balance. iQOO claims a 17% larger grip zone, which makes sense when you’re gaming horizontally for extended periods.
The 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED display delivers smooth visuals, while built-in hardware-level eye protection helps reduce eye strain during longer sessions. Add a metal frame, curved edges, and a clean camera bump, and the phone feels polished without being flashy.
Tested on the Esports Stage
The iQOO 15R isn’t just marketed for gaming, it’s being used in one of Malaysia’s biggest esports competitions. The device has been named the official gaming phone of Malaysian Kings League (MKL) 2026, where professional teams will compete using it throughout the tournament.

With 10 teams battling it out in the Malaysian Kings League, the phone will be tested under real competitive pressure, where stability and responsiveness matter more than specs on paper.
Cameras, Software, and Daily Features
Away from gaming, the iQOO 15R delivers a solid everyday experience. The 50MP Sony LYT-700V camera with OIS handles detailed shots and offers 2x lossless zoom, while the 32MP front camera is more than capable for selfies and content creation.
Running on OriginOS 6, the phone is designed for five years of smooth performance, supported by features like AI Creation, AI Captions. Connectivity also gets a boost with a dedicated network enhancement chip and surround antenna design, helping maintain stable connections in busy areas.
Pricing and Availability in Malaysia
The iQOO 15R is available in Pixel Silver and Dark Knight, with pricing starting at RM2,499 for the 12GB + 256GB variant and RM2,699 for the 12GB + 512GB model. It’s available through official iQOO stores on Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, and selected vivo Concept Stores.
Early buyers (2–8 March) can also receive bundled extras like iQOO Buds, extended warranty coverage, and screen protection benefits.
