HONOR Celebrates 5 Years as Malaysia’s No. 1 Choice by Honoring Its Loyal Community

Global tech leader HONOR recently commemorated its fifth anniversary in Malaysia, hosting a gala to honor the consumers and partners who fueled its rapid rise. The event underscored the brand’s “consumer-centric” philosophy, attributing its success to a community that has helped HONOR navigate a fiercely competitive market to become a household name.

A Journey to the Top of the Market

The milestone follows a significant achievement: in Q4 2025, HONOR secured the No. 1 market share for both smartphones and tablets in Malaysia. Justin Li, President of HONOR South Pacific, noted that the brand achieved a decade’s worth of growth in just five years. He emphasized that HONOR’s product durability isn’t just a result of lab testing, but rather a “co-creation” with local beta users, students, and photographers whose feedback shaped the ecosystem to fit Malaysian needs.

“Today, it is rewarding to see HONOR become the ‘Pilihan Utama Rakyat Malaysia’. We are deeply grateful to the dedicated community that has stood by us, sharing our products and philosophy with steadfast loyalty,” adds Li.

Empowering Malaysia’s Unsung Heroes

As part of its evolution into a “pillar of society,” HONOR launched the HONOR of Malaysia Awards Project

“As HONOR grows in Malaysia, we aim to deepen our roots by evolving from a preferred brand into a pillar of society. Through the ‘HONOR of Malaysia’ vision, we want to support unsung heroes who make quiet yet powerful contributions to society,” said Li.

Officiated by Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital, Teo Nie Ching, this CSR initiative recognizes ordinary Malaysians performing extraordinary service. The inaugural recipients included:

  • Mohd Adli Yahya: Founder of the Autism Cafe Project, an initiative established in 2016, which provides employment and life skills for autistic individuals.
  • Cikgu Prakash: A visually impaired educator who has spent 16 years traveling across Klang Valley by train to teach Bahasa Melayu and Sejarah for secondary school students.
  • Mak Jah (Siti Normala Adrus): A food stall owner known for providing RM3 meals and free food for students in need.

Capturing the Spirit of the Nation

Looking toward the future, HONOR announced a National Photography Tour in support of the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign. This initiative encourages locals to document Malaysia’s landscapes and culture using mobile photography. Top works from the tour will be featured in the HONOR Global Exhibition 2026, showcasing the beauty of Malaysia to an international audience.

By blending technological advancement with community support, HONOR aims to deepen its roots in Malaysia as it enters its next phase of growth.
