The Doogee S89 series consisting of the S89 and S89 Pro has been released in China, and it’s the first and only rugged phone to come with a 65W charger with a hefty 12,000mAh battery. Company claims the battery will last up to 16 hours of gameplay or 18 hours of video streaming on a single charge and three days of light use should not deplete the battery’s capacity. Also it is claimed that the enormous battery capacity can be charged in just two hours.
The Doogee S89 series is notable for its RGB light effect, which is touted as “breathing light.” Users can customize the light colors, patterns, and speed. The breathing light effect can be assigned to functions like incoming calls and notifications, or it can be synced to music like an equalizer.
The Doogee S89 series features a 6.3-inch LCD display housed in a thick, durable chassis with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner in addition to being built for outdoor activities. It is also built with a drop-proof from up to 1.5 meters thanks to the MIL-STD-810H standard, and the devices are rated IP68 and IP69K for 1.5M water resistance and PM2.5 dust resistance.
In terms of performance, the Doogee S89 series is powered by a MediaTek Helio P90 CPU, with both models getting 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM while both models have a microSD card slot that can accommodate up to 512GB of additional storage. Moreover, it also offers 936 hours of standby time, 18 hours of video playback, 60 hours of calling time, 16.5 hours of gaming time, and 42 hours of music playback, as well as supports both 65W conventional fast charging and 15W wireless charging
For the camera configuration, it includes a triple camera consisting of 64MP primary sensor, a 20MP secondary lens with Night Vision 2.0, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a macro setting on the back. The 16MP front camera may be used for selfies and video calls. The phones come pre-installed with Android 12 OS. The Doogee S89 will be retailed for USD399.99 (~RM1795) while the S89 Pro is priced at USD459.99 (~RM2064).
