After great anticipation fueled by leaks and teasers, ASUS has unveiled its new ROG Phone 6 series. The new gaming smartphones use the most advanced hardware available in the smartphone market. They provide the just-released Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 CPU and an outstanding 18 GB of RAM, which is now only available in the gaming market. The ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro were two new smartphones that the brand unveiled.
In terms of similarities, both variants of the ASUS ROG Phone 6 feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display with an adaptive refresh rate of 165 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 720 Hz. Both smartphones feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 chipset, as befits a premium gaming phone. In addition, they are powered by a large 6000mAh battery that enables 65W charging. ASUS ROG Phone 6 series cameras provide a 50 MP Sony IMX766 as a primary camera, a 13 MP ultrawide module, and a 5 MP macro camera. There also includes a selfie camera setup with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 sensor.
Furthermore, the devices include programmable AirTrigger ultrasonic buttons on the phone’s right side and back. It enables you to map your controls in games that support it. In addition, there are dual front-facing speakers, triple microphones, Dirac Virtual Audio, and a Headphone jack. The phone also offers IPX4 splash resistance, as previously reported. For this ROG Phone 6 series, the company brings back the AeroActive cooler and a ROG Kunai gamepad.
There will be two RAM and storage variants offered for the ASUS ROG Phone 6: 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB. The price will start at RM3599, while the upper variant will cost at RM4399 price tag. There would be a pricing difference of RM800 between the two. It will be available in Storm White, Phantom Black, and with Aura RGB backlighting. However, you’ll have to wait until August to get it.
Next for the Pro version will cost at RM4999 and comes with 18GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Only Storm White is offered with the feature of the ROG Vision tiny display located on the back panel. Nevertheless, the pro variant is also expected to come later than the standard version, which is reported in September.
